Position Summary: The Harvest Hill Beverage Co. Quality Assurance Systems Specialist is responsible for ensuring systems are comprehensively and accurately managed meanwhile quality programs meet HHBC and FDA Food Safety regulations. The candidate shall be well-versed in SQF and experienced in processed beverages. The office will be in Stamford CT and will report to the Sr. Director of QA, Food Safety and Regulatory. Up to 20% travel may be required. QA Systems Specialist successfully integrates quality management system platforms for Harvest Hill Beverage Co.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Generate and develop system improvement goals for HHBC QA documentation systems. Efficiently creates and maintains HHBC Quality systems map; define and collaboratively implement continuous improvement objectives and identify missing or incomplete information.
Participate in and minute the Quality and Compliance working group. * Upload documents to both internal and external systems.
Develop QA systems training & implement proficiency processes.
Collaboratively support maintenance of the HHBC Master Supplier Program. * Investigate and respond to corrective action items related to quality documentation control.
Oversee coordination of Product Development samples & consumer complaints.
Assist in validating prospective raw material ingredients, raw material suppliers and auditing.
Actively participate in innovation projects and new product launches.
Support managing non-compliances of raw material ingredients and finished products.
Serve as key stakeholder for Organic Certification and Kosher Certification activities.
Assist HHBC QA Documentation Coordinator in management of raw material testing program and documentation controls.
Obtain required raw material supplier documentation, post to appropriate internal/external SharePoint sites and ensure corresponding databases are up to date.
Review supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis) submissions for accuracy & compliance.
Enter incoming COA lot info directly into HH raw material Access database.
Coordinate raw material Sample Requests.
Submit chemistry request forms to ensure samples are appropriately tested.
Apply Juice Program composite & FSMA sampling/testing initiatives.
Coordinate traceability exercise documentation and convey results accordingly to internal/external personnel.
Adept and experienced as an SQF practitioner with excellent interpersonal skills.
Candidate should possess a BS degree in Food Science, Biology or related field or possess comparable experience in food or beverage Quality assurance.
Proven experience of working with databases, include inputting and extracting data.
Excellent attention to detail with organizational and planning skills.
Ability to self-manage, prioritize and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, participants and external stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Travel up to 20% may be required.
Undertake any training and professional development as and when required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Access, Word and Excel. Systems experience may include: Microsoft Access, TRACEGAINS, Sharepoint and Red Zone.
