The Finance Department of our Individual, Small Group and Government business unit is leading the way at Blue Shield of California. With a wide variety of responsibilities, including administration of capitation, new and existing product pricing, sales incentive compensation, provider contract analysis and operational reporting and analysis, you'll apply your expertise to a diverse range of duties in this reputable group.

Responsibilities:

• Compiles, analyzes and reports operational results; includes membership, sales, cost of healthcare, revenue, etc.
• Develops forecast and budget models, performs trend and cost-benefit analyses, and provides financial consultation to business units.
• Projects costs for new and existing operations and services.
• Conducts financial performance reviews.
• Monitors expenditures and reports variances to unit management.
• Reviews reports to ensure accuracy of payment and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
Requirements:

• Bachelor's with 3+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong financial and analytical background.
• Ability to interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations in your analyses.
• PC proficiency with automated accounting and financial systems.
• Ability to "drill down" into data to identify root causes and turn raw data into actionable information.
• Familiarity with managed care products and compensation methodologies, risk pool settlements, trending and forecasting.
• Solid communication skills.
• Background in actuarial and/or pricing development; SAS knowledge; and experience with provider contract negotiation, contract strategy development or contract modeling preferred.
